Development of the animal shelter software TIGON

The foundation "TierRettungsDienst - Life Takes Priority" is dedicated to helping injured, stray, and abandoned animals - around the clock. Their services include an emergency center that coordinates emergency calls from all over Switzerland, as well as the animal shelter Pfötli, which provides animals with a safe, temporary home.

Initial situation

After 20 years in use, the existing animal shelter administration software was outdated. It was technically obsolete and could no longer meet the growing demands of daily work in the animal shelter.

Introduction of new concepts and digital processes

We started the project with a visit to the animal shelter to learn about the processes, working methods, and current challenges. Building on this, we worked together with the project team to develop new and thoughtful concepts, resulting in the design of the new solution and the exact requirements.

We integrated the requirements of the animal shelter staff from the beginning to make their daily work as easy as possible. This not only optimized workflows but also digitized them. For example, animals that arrive at the animal shelter are directly recorded in the system - without detours through paper forms. This minimizes errors and follow-up processes are immediately triggered.

Separation of animal, care, and case management

The biggest change is the separation of animal, care, and case management into separate work areas. This clear structuring allows teams to work independently. Previously, the work masks were mixed, and data had to be added at different points. This led to inefficiencies and uncertainties - especially with animals that regularly return to the animal shelter.

Digitization of entry and exit checks

The processes of entering and exiting an animal have been completely digitized. Previously, the processes were done on paper and then manually entered into the system. This led to extra effort and delayed downstream processes.

Today, everything is done digitally, minimizing dependencies and saving valuable working time.

The result

The new solution is more than just administrative software - it is an efficient tool that frees up employees and supports them in their important work. Due to its modular structure, the software is flexible and can be adapted to future needs. Our approach of consistently focusing on user-friendliness and flexibility has paid off: the team's feedback is positive, and the software is already providing valuable services in everyday life.
