The Danish company SwipBox develops smart self-service lockers for parcels. Around 40,000 of these lockers have been installed worldwide since the company was founded in 2012, including for DPD, DHL and the Australian postal service. In addition to the hardware solution, the company also develops the associated software solutions.

I approached devedis for support building a new website – and it has been a pleasure to work with the team. They’ve been extremely helpful and quick at coming up with solutions. On top of that they're super nice, and I look forward to future projects with them!

Requirements for the new website

Due to the strong growth, the old website could no longer fulfil the new requirements. SwipBox therefore decided to relaunch the website.

The SwipBox team wanted more flexibility in capturing content and a fundamental facelift. Before the relaunch, the content was entered statically. There was no content management system in use and managing the website was very time-consuming.

It was also important to SwipBox that they were involved in the development of the new website and could expand it independently if necessary. SwipBox provided us with the design, which was further optimised and implemented in cooperation with us. SwipBox also contributed to the development of the front end.

Integration of Craft CMS

SwipBox decided in favour of Craft CMS for the relaunch of the website. An innovative, modular and flexible content management system. Craft CMS significantly simplifies content creation and website management.

The frontend was developed in line with the headless approach using the Angular frontend framework. The decoupling of the frontend as a single page application from the backend (CMS) provides more flexibility, enables better performance and an excellent user experience.

To speed up development, we relied on our library of customisable standard components.

Highlight Feature

Among other things, the design is characterised by explanations of the images. We have developed a text overlay so that these explanations are barrier-free. The text can be placed on the image using X and Y coordinates. The whole placement is relative to the image size, which ensures responsiveness.
